The Pelham Jewish Center is a unique, intimate, egalitarian Conservative synagogue in lower Westchester County, NY. Our members come from a variety of backgrounds, and have a wide range of experience and knowledge of Judaism. All are welcome.
We encourage you to browse through our website and, better yet, to come and visit us in our intimate and inviting home, which is in a tree-lined residential neighborhood, easily accessible throughout the area. Ours is not your typical suburban synagogue; ours is an oasis of deep connection, prayer, song, study and caring in a world in which people are more often racing against time in an unforgiving environment than experiencing, as Rabbi Abraham Joshua Heschel wrote, "a sanctuary of time" with a community of loving people around them.
Visit us and you will find people who are committed to sharing meaningful conversation with one another, and children who love coming to our services and our Learning Center. At the PJC, adults regularly attend classes and participate in our vibrant social action programs, and many of our young people participate in our youth groups. And don't miss our song-filled, uplifting services on Shabbat and holidays, services which are exceptional for their vitality and beauty, for their communal singing, for their quiet repose, and for their probing Torah study.
Within these pages, and within our walls, we hope you will discover a comfortable place for yourself, regardless of your background, your experience, and we hope we can help you nurture your Jewish soul.
